Yes it will work great. Best Buy will not support you should you have issues or need repair. Purchase direct or another retailer.

I don't know what specific model laptop you have (several laptops fit your description of "HP - 15.6" Full HD Laptop - AMD Ryzen 5 7520U - 16GB Memory - 256GB SSD") but the ones I looked at won't recharge through the USB-C port, and the Docking station doesn't have an AC port, so I'll have to say that no, it won't charge the laptop.
