Graphics are on a chipset that is soldered to the motherboard, which is almost as bad as being part of the CPU. This is the situation with most laptops that don't have graphics as part of the CPU chip. Truly separate graphics cards (that can be user replaced) are a small minority in the laptop field.

Some systems, through software, actually enable using both at the same time, for improved performance, but I don't know if this is one of them
