• This laptop does support HDR but the monitor does not, you would need to connect it to an external monitor or TV with HDR support using an HDMI cable to make use of this feature. And yes, it can play .mov files, using windows media player.

• .mov files are like any other: it is not the machine, but the software, that counts in using the file. Download VLC and use that for any video file and you will be fine.
