QuestionMy daughter needs a CAD laptop for College. This laptop covers all the specs they need but the graphics card they recommend is a 4-8 GB Video Card. Will the entry level card in this laptop work well for CAD?

- Answer Thank you for your question on this HP ZBook Firefly! The Intel UHD chipset will work well for basic CAD functions, but for simulations and renderings, a dedicated card is recommended. AutoCAD calls for dedicated card that has at least 2GB of video memory, preferably 8GB. The Intel UHD chipset pulls its memory from the system memory. A better alternative would be to purchase an HP Omen gaming laptop. You can find one with the same configuration, but with a dedicated graphics card!
