Will this receiver handle better speakers? null

Yes it will and it helps a lot of with the low volume issue if you replace all the speakers. I'd recommend getting a good powered subwoofer to start with. If you do get better speakers make sure you get matching impedance speaker values. Either get all 4ohz speakers or 6 and 8ohz speakers because you can either set the value to 4 or 6 and above. If you can keep your impedance values the same for the best efficiency.

Yes. Depending on what you are looking to hook up you may not need them though. These are pretty darn good speakers. Subwoofer could be upgraded but that's just my opinion.
