According to the manufacturer, "The Hyper E-Ride bike's battery can last for up to 20 miles or approximately one hour of riding when fully charged. It features a 36V/7.8 AH integrated battery that takes about four hours to recharge." I have never gotten the battery below 3/4 charge for light use on paved roads. The most I have ridden for in one ride was about 20 minutes, possibly 2 miles or so. I tend to use moderate assist to full assist on hills, depending on the slope. I am assuming the 20 mile range would be using minimum assist and probably very few easy hills. Average bikes costing double the price of this one ($1500-$2000) will give you a maximum of 30 miles or so, based on my comparison shopping before I bought this bike.
