• Yes. I am connecting a macbook 2018 pro and a hdmi monitor. My macbook pro uses Thunderbolt 3

• I’m a long time user and not an IT specialist, but hope this helps. My previous Dell XPS Laptop had a Thunderbolt port for an external screen. I used a Thunderbolt to HDMI hub to connect my screen. This Hub has USB, USB3 and HDMI ports, no thunderbolt ports.

• It should. That’s what I use it for. I connect this to my MacBook Pro, then I run HDMI from the adapter to an external monitor. Works great; no issues.
