“Does the seat have enough cushion for protection as I tend to get sore or do you recommend additional cushioning and if so what is recommended and where could I purchase it? What is recommended to protect the tires from going flat?”

Hi Pegg, we do not recommend any additional cushioning, we also do not recommend any protection for tires other than taking care when riding and regular checks. If you need anything in the future please do not hesitate to contact us. Many thanks, Diane
