• The edges are not stitched. I have used mine daily for about a month and the bottom left corner which my arm brushes a lot shows a small amount of fraying only on the leading edge, there is adhesive under it preventing the fraying from spreading.

• Yes, For me they prevent fraying very well, and I've had it for about 4 months.
