• Hi, I had to use this in order to connect to WiFi Some gaming computers are now being made without WiFi connections so this is an alternative to hard wiring the computer. It is especially helpful if you do not have the wiring to do so in the room that you set the computer up in. I'm not sure what cable you may be inquiring about.

• Not sure about the cable but I believe the dongle is for wifi.
