I did not hook mine up to a monitor, but to my 52 inch Samsung TV via the HDMI cable. It too did not recognize the input. I had to push the button along the top row of the keyboard that looked to have a picture of a monitor on it to work. On a laptop I usually have to push the "fn" key with the "F8", but this one was a little different.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Windows might be setting either the PC or your monitor to go to sleep. Just tapping anything on you keyboard, or clicking your mouse, should wake it up if that is the case. I leave that setting alone, but it can be changed using Control Panel - Power options.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The monitor may not be high tech enough to for your monitor. We had to purchase a better monitor because of the same issue.
