“I bought two USB 3.0 external DVD players/writers. Neither one of them is recognized when I plug them into the top USB 3.0 ports. Windows reports "USB device not recognized." How can I find one that's compatible?”

I called Geek Squad, he told me to go to google, vlc media player through videoland.org and download it. I did that and it worked. I hope this helps if not I would call Geek Squad, they were helpful.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Regarding the suggestion from BBGUN to buy "Dell - 8x External USB DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Black", the only one I can find is a USB 2.0. Is there one I'm missing? I don't object to buying a USB 2.0 if it works, but I'd prefer a USB 3.0.

Please try again later.The Drives should come with a CD but if not here is the one i bought and it works well, Dell - 8x External USB DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Black $31.00 Just be sure and plug into the 2 usb's that are on top of the unit because those are your 3.0 and the rest are 2.0 usb's.
