You CAN put any size you want, but ensure it has the right pin count. Also, bear in mind the RAM will operate identically with the slowest RAM you have installed. In other words, if you have two RAM installed, and one is DDR5 that runs at 6000 Mhz, and the other is DDR4 that runs at 4800 Mhz, BOTH RAM will operate at DDR4 4800Mhz.
