“Can’t get the sound to work in any of the jacks on either my son’s headphones or external speakers. What do I need to do?”

have you tried the top headphone port on the top of the tower? ususally when you plug an audio device it will ask "What did you plug in?" in the bottom left corner, then you will select Headphones. If they're external speakers then try the rear PINK audio port then follow the procedure above but select speakers. Let me know the result!

Please try again later.I had this exact problem when you plug them in you have to go to the task bar at the bottom click on the volume logo and above the volume it will say nvidia click on that the other option that pops up choose that then the sound is ran through the jacks
