“I bought this unit and had to have it replaced and when I got the replacement it was a different unit totally. The original one I got came with a controller for the light settings and it was overall just better hardware. Are there variants to these?”

These desktops are put together in an assembly line. There is no quality control done on the product before they are shipped out and they are often put together using different and diverse components. No two are the same.
