“Is the base clock speed on this computer really 2.8ghz? Intel lists their i7 8700 processor at a 3.2ghz speed, is there something about this configuration that would lower that to 2.8?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I ran the specs on the computer even if you go inside the computer and look at the information about it it is clocked at 3.2 gigahertz and and boost frequency can hit up to 4.6 GHz aka turbo boost.

All this info can be found here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/docs/processors/core/8th-gen-core-family-datasheet-vol-1.html S - Processor line - 6 core 65w runs 2.8 GHz to 3.2 GHz S - Processor line - 6 core 95w runs 3.6 GHz to 3.7 GHz H - Processor line - 6 core 45w runs 2.0 GHz to 2.9 GHz U - Processor line - 4 core. The processor sold with this PC is a 6 core, so that makes it either an S or H processor. Only way to be for sure would be to open the case and look at the info listed on the processor and see what the wattage is. Good luck.
