One of the drives inside it already is an SSD. Other one is a hard drive. If you are installing an M.2 type SSD, there is a spot on the board to insert the chip, but you have to provide yourself with the screw. For installing SSD I believe you need to connect one Power Cable and one DATA cable. Power cable will be from the power supply. Data cable will be from the board. You may have to provide yourself with one as well as I'm not too sure if this machine has spare cables. I had to unscrew a lot of pieces from that hard drive and SSD component to get the SSD from this machine removed (I swapped SSDs between two machines). It's hard work but it is possible
