I got it! *happy dance* Turns out there was another plug that was disconnected: on the inside of the case, the cable labeled "M/B signal cable" was not attached to the motherboard and was just laying loose in the case. Plugged that into the Addressable LED pins on the MOBO and good to go! :D

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.For my system, I have to select the addressable RGB led item via the polychrome sync program. Additionally, some programs (Chroma Connect) can control the leds. When you use chroma connect you loose the control the poluchrome sync app provides. This is easy to check: open the polychrome app and look at the line where you see "Onboard LED". do you see anything to the right of that? If so, turning it off requires you to click on the chroma connect icon and slide the button in the app to the off position. Hope this helps, if not it might be a good time to try out the ibuy warrenty :(
