Hello, This is a great starter PC for your 11 year old! You can either download games or connect to the Xbox. The 8GB refers to how much memory the system has, not the storage. These are two different things and can be confusing, but think of memory as short term memory while storage is long term. This system has 1TB of storage, or 1000GB which is enough for a lot of games!
