• No! That's what is so wonderful about this machine! No permanent lines. You can take it with you anywhere as long as you have an AC plug. Just fill it with water - we recommend filtered water - and turn it on. Ice cubes in less than 10 minutes!

• If you look at the product pictures you'd see a tank with water being poured into it. So just ADD water. Personally I prefer adding it myself so you can use bottled water.
