• If the backup battery is still charged, yes. The backup battery is replaceable (located in the bottom of the unit).

• If there's an outtage and even if the ac adaptor isnt plugged....it will still sound!

• It didn't with me, but it does have battery backup on the bottom. Once I put them in, I haven't had an issue.
