• No! The speakers are underneath the radio. They would be blocked by the shelf. Otherwise it would fit.

• Yes, you can set it atop a shelf, though you will see the circular holes on the top where it is intended to be screwed in underneath a shelf.

• The speakers are on the bottom of the unit and it is designed to hang from a cabinet. If you placed flat the speakers would be muffled. If you flipped it upside down the display and CD would not work.
