“I just bought a different boombox and when you press STOP it does NOT have a memory of where the CD left off. So the CD starts at the beginning again. Was wondering if this boombox has a memory of the CD when STOP is pressed?”

Dear customer, to pause the CD please press Play/Pause button instead of Stop button. Play/Pause button will pause the CD and play it where it left off.
