“My CD player plays for a couple of minutes then just powers off automatically. I can turn it back on and it plays. But if I press “on” to pause it, it powers off automatically too after a few seconds. I use the batteries that are included.”

I’d return it. I always get the protection plan for my players so they can be replaced. They last me about 5-9 months.
