Yes, you can use Roku only. Antenna or other items are optional.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. You can see shows on certain free apps like crackle for instance. If you have certain channels with your direct TV, you could possibly download those apps on the TV and link to your direct TV account to basically have on demand viewing for the shows on those channels. All this would be possible without hooking the direct TV to the TV and just using the wifi.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Turn the tv on, then turn on the remote that goes with our ROKU attachment. Plug it in. You will need a wifi # for settings. Then it won't interfere or even notice dish or direct TV connections or anything else it is self contained. Great for ironing or carrying into that horrible back room you need to clean. The Insignia has a beautiful picture. The ROKU attachment I bought is a #3 box because it has a remote that headphones to plus in the remote which you just carry with you away from the TV. nobody else has to hear you listening to PEARL JAM. Control the volume on the remote at your treadmill and the sound can be REALLY loud on the earphones and silent on the tv. I had bought the ROKU enabled, but returned it for the exact same ROKU that had to buy a roku box for and one $10 cable. I had WI-fi connecting problems with the one that was already ROKU enabled.
