“Will it hold a regular sized plate?”

• The glass plate inside has a 9.25" diameter. There is very little space between the plate and the sides of the microwave. I've attached a photo for you of the microwave plate with a standard ruler on it so you can see the size. If it won't fit on that glass plate, there is no room to go over it.
