“Just bought this model yesterday to replace an ancient microwave... disappointed to notice that the Insignia makes a high pitched hum when door is open. Might be lightbulb. Is this normal or a defect? So heavy to take back! :(”

• I haven't heard anything, it sounds like you might have a factory defect. Mine is really quiet when running. No noise at all with just the door open.
