You are probably stuck with a non usable product. Insignia does not answer calls and Best Buy does not exchange defective products.

The top three are for functions.* The second tier is for setting power, clock & timer. The third & fourth tiers are for cooking items so popular that the time required for cooking has been programmed in as in "popcorn", "pizza", etc. *If you press "time cook" or "time defrost" or "weight defrost", you will need to enter the length of time or the weight of the frozen item (depending on which function button you pushed) before microwave will start.
