• Yes, there is a dual air intake on the underside of the microwave for stove ventilation and a single intake inside of the microwave for ventilating cooking foods or post cooking smells. Also the exhaust blower fan can be configured for upward exhaust or back exhaust through the wall that the microwave is mounted on. Overall a very nice microwave I am happy to say since we have had it for one month.

• Yes... when you receive the microwave it is set up as recirculating the air through the charcoal filters. You can also set it up to vent via the top or the rear it comes with those options. There are helpful instructions for whichever option you choose or need. I hope this information was helpful.
