• The button also restarts charging the phone should the brick decide to halt before fully charged. This happens sometimes when the cable is moved around a bit but a better cable probably eliminates this. The cable included is a bit cheap.

• It's a status button to show how much power remains before the unit, itself, needs recharging. There are four blue LEDs that show status. They also show while using the charger as well as lighting up and blinking while the power unit is recharging. When all four LEDs are lit the unit is fully recharged.
