Hi GiMa, The Insignia™ 12’ 3-Outlet Extension Cable (NS-PWRX30T) is designed for use with small home and office electronics. However, using it with a window air conditioner might not be the best idea. Window AC units typically draw a significant amount of power, and it’s generally recommended to plug them directly into a wall outlet to avoid overloading the extension cable and to ensure safe operation. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.16 AWG is rated only to deliver 10 amps, safely, that’s after inclusion of derating factors for continuous duty, such as should be considered for an AC device which will be left on for hours at a time. So in this case, the wire size cap of 10 amps x 80%, thus as long as your load is an 8 amp draw. Should you choose something in 14 AWG, that’s 12 amps max listed load at continuous duty, becoming 15 amps. Remember that most housing is also being done in 14 AWG, thus that entire outlet, and circuit, is now maxed out, unless you know it is specifically 12 AWG. You’ll find the load listed on the machine, or its box.
