You of course could use this as an extension for a surge protector, but you might want to call up the manufacturer and be sure that it wouldn’t prevent you from taking advantage of an equipment replacement policy if some event were to occur. If they say they won’t cover anything with that type of setup, you could use these to extended the reach of your equipment plugs individually.

No, since connecting power cords or strips together is considered "daisy chaining", which is not acceptable in standard safety regulations including UL. If something does happen and becomes damaged, you will be liable and could not claim back to Best Buy or surge protector brand.
