My opinion is when secured to a wall, that would improve flatness and plumb. Also wall would eliminate any possible racking and would be most stable not allowing movement. It could hang from rafter and any breeze like walking past it will cause it to move if not secured. Free hanging may allow it to rack a little causing corners to be out of focus. The screen is flexible coated pvc sheet secured with perimeter rods and about 80 small high tension springs. Since it’s under some tension and the frame seems pretty stable but I noticed moving it to the wall after assembly. It seems it could be twisted a little out of plane.

Even if this could be rigged, the screen would likely sway due from any sort of air pressure changes in the room without the bottom brackets. It would be recommended you look into pull-down screens or electronically lowering screens instead as these usually have a way to mount them from above and have better stabilization from swaying with weighted bottom ends.
