Ground is Black and Power (12VDC) is Yellow. Just an FYI Green is the wire that tells signals the RPMs and Blue is to control the fan.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The answer using the RV really helped me. My fan had 2 gray wires and 2 black wires so i stripped, split, and tried each set (1 gray and 1 black). Neither set worked so i thought maybe both grays are positive and wired them together and tried each black on the negative. It worked one of the blacks with both grays wired together and fan works. I'm using the fan in a battery box for an off-grid system. The extra black wire I taped up with electrical tape so it was not live and so it was out of the way. Thanks to everyone.

Then I cut two holes in the plywood to mount the fans to ensure the fans pull the air out. As for the wires, there is no way to tell which wires just by looking at them. But only one black and one gray will work. So I cut the plug off and stripped about 1/2" off the sheath. Tried one black with each of the grays and nothing worked. Tried the other black and it worked with only one of the grays. Those were my two to use. I'm pretty sure the gray wire was the positive and the black was the negative. But try it both ways to make sure. I cut the other wires to about 1" and wrapped them with electrical tape.
