“Do the glass shelves and plastic bins cause an issue with cold air circulation in Freezer mode? I know most freezers have wire shelves and bins to promote air circulation and avoid hot spots.”

I keep mine in my garage on freezer mode and it does a fantastic job. I have not noticed any issues at all with cold air circulation.

Please try again later.Here's the rub... these tempered glass shelves look nice BUT; we've now had one of these explode because something frozen (read hard and dense) fell from a top shelve and shattered the bottom shelf... the cold on freezer mode makes the shelves fragile, brittle and scary to load up... we're 6 months in and still waiting on a replacement part from the manufacturer with no end in sight (perpetual back-order)... Have half a mind to order a new one of these, strip the shelves and return it. Wire shelves are better than glass for a freezer, it's just science and now I know ;-(
