“How much clearance is required to have the lid open 90 degrees? I have 59" below a cabinet above. Is the lid counter-balanced such that it is self supporting if the lid is not fully open? I have the same question for the 10 cf and 14 cf freezers.”

60 1/2" with the handle. Before adding the handle the lid is 58 5/8" from the floor when open 90 degrees. It does sit at a perfect 90 when open.
