Unsure, because it has not happened, and this unit is new to us. I had a previous freezer (Kenmore) keep food for about two days after an outage, however. It is a function of how full your freezer is. The more frozen food in it, the longer it keeps if the power goes out. I now have my freezer and my sump on a back up generator.
