A:Answer It is possible to run this cable outdoors. In order to best protect this or any other cable from the elements and from animal interference, I recommend purchasing a one-and-one-half inch (1-1/2") internal diameter PVC pipe through which to run your Ethernet cable outside. This should be done with any small cable regardless of whether or not it is graded for outdoor use to protect any wildlife from potential electrocution - I personally know more than one squirrel who has died chewing through various types of exposed cables, including actual power lines. Doing this serves the added benefit of further protecting your cable - and therefore the integrity of your network - from all variable outdoor elements except fire, flood, and earthquake, and is also not prohibitively expensive. The PVC pipe might actually be cheaper than the cable itself.
