Yes. It can be used as a fridge or a freezer but it will die on you before you can make all the payments. Most freezer brands have extended warranties on the compressors, but Insignia doesn't. I was told by a Best Buy staff member that they don't even repair freezers under 18 cubic feet. Save your money and buy a different brand from a different store.
