This freezer is exactly what we needed in our garage. We have a refrigerator freezer unit in the garage but every winter when the temperatures fall, the freezer unit stops working when the unheated garage temperature drops below a certain point. Then we have to take everything out of the freezer section and try to fit it all in the house refrigerator freezer unit. Then we can’t buy any freezer items since we don’t have the room. We purchased this freezer and when the really cold weather came, we moved all the freezer items to this freezer which is working perfectly! Now we have plenty of room for all our frozen items and can buy more if we want. There’s plenty of room and it all stays frozen, no matter what the temperature is in the garage. The two appliances are next to each other in the garage which makes it very convenient. We are very happy with this freezer!

The Insignia Upright Freezer was the best purchase I have ever made. It runs great and holds a lot. The appearance of this item is quite impressive as well. If you're looking for a quality upright freezer for a great price, this is the one to buy.

I wish it had metal shelves versus glass shelves. I prefer glass for fridges and metal for freezers other than that I don't have any complaints. I love that it has drawers and shelves on the door. I love the digital aspect is very simple not over complicated.

We purchased this freezer a year ago and couldnt be happier. We have the 17cubic foot and it holds so much food. Love the light inside and the door capacity is great.

We bought this upright freezer as a replacement for an old working chest freezer that we kept in a detached garage. The old freezer always iced up and needed frequent defrosting. Finding items in the chest freezer was sometimes frustrating as it seemed whatever we needed had frequently found its way to the bottom of the frozen mess. The new upright has auto defrost and has room for everything we kept in the old freezer. The upright has bottom drawers for smaller items and several shelves that allow for easy viewing of everything in the freezer. The temperature of the upright is adjustable from well below zero in freezer mode or above freezing if we ever find need to use it as a refrigerator.

I really love that this can be either a refrigerator or a freezer depending on your setting. I was looking for a counter depth refrigerator for my kitchen and discovered these. I'm doing a kitchen remodel so I bought two because I can make room for them in my configuration. I have one set to refrigerator and one set to freezer. This has been working very well, the storage is excellent and without a lot of extra stuff in the way like a bulky ice maker or water dispenser. Also buying both was cheaper than buying most normal refrigerators. I bought the medium and the large sizes. It's worth knowing that on the large one you still get four shelves with two drawers. Obviously there's more space for each shelf but they don't add a fifth. Also the shelves on the door are fairly narrow, so if you are a super condiment person this might not work great for you. On the other hand I had many condiments I probably needed to do away with, so this does help keep you organized and slim down your collection. This review is for the medium one which I am using as a refrigerator. Since there are no dividers I ended up getting an aftermarket under drawer thing for my butter and cheeses. This way they stay organized and don't take up precious shelf space. See picture. The shelves themselves are 17 in deep by 26 in wide. I had the hardest time finding that when I was buying online so I figured I'd pass this on. The only slightly annoying thing is the fridge beeps every time you open it, I'd imagine this is useful if you had kids or something. It also beeps over and over if you leave it open too long. This is annoying when you have to clean it but a good reminder if it didn't close all the way. Be aware the doors are not reversible because they have the temperature controls on them, so they are wired in I have really enjoyed this product, it was perfect for what I wanted.

This was a Christmas gift to my son and daughter -in-law and they just love it. They especially like the fact that it can be either a refrigerator or freezer whichever they choose.

Absolutely love this freezer/fridge so far! Really cool feature that I didn’t know, is you can make this a fridge or a freezer, gives you the option, Lots of space Set up was a breeze, My parents love it so much they are purchasing one for their garage as well.

After reading all the reviews both good and bad we decided to take a chance. The main reason we did is because back in 2012 I bought an out of box Insignia TV that is still working to this day. We ordered the Insignia 17 cu ft convertible freezer/refrigerator. The delivery team was great and they even helped me to reinstall the laundry room door after they put it in place. (I had removed it before they got here) I did exactly what you should and this is I plugged in the freezer for over 24 hours. I also put an inside outside thermometer in the freezer to ensure it got down to 0 degrees and it did. Then since this is a separate freezer I moved it down to -10 degrees. I have had it now for 3 + weeks and it is doing great. My freezer is not in the garage it is in my house but it fits perfectly where I wanted it. The only thing was there was no owners manual and it said I could find that on line. I have looked and it is not anywhere to be found. The freezer so far is doing great. One last thing usually when a store like Best Buy has a store manufactures name on it like insignia it is usually made by one of the big appliance companies. In this case it is probably made by Whirlpool as they have a very similar looking product

Amazing fridge/freezer. Got this about a year ago and have switched between the two for holiday party’s and overall use. Had a flash freeze mode which works after grocery shopping to avoid spoilage too!

Finally I got the perfect deep freezer! I love that it can be a refrigerator or a freezer! Spacious, quiet, stylish,and roomy! I’m glad I chose it! Happy customer! Only thing is the handle ; I believe it was installed correctly . You can open it from the top but Best Buy is coming to fix it!

This is exactly what I was looking for. I bought a Frigidaire model a couple of years ago but it had horrible frosting issues. This one has a great sealing door and lots of usable space inside. I also like that we can use it as a refrigerator if we choose to. I was concerned because I was not familiar with the brand Insignia. All concerns are gone.

Fits in our garage as expected. Like the fact that it can be used as a refrigerator or freezer. We are using it as a freezer. Layout is perfect and I can find within seconds what I am looking for. Perfect for us in all ways.

So far this freezer is AMAZING! It is so much bigger than I expected, but I am glad it is large. I got it so that I could do a bunch of meal prep before the spring semester started since I work full time and go to school. I ordered at the right time it seems, my freezer in my refrigerator was not keeping ice cream solid and now all my Ben & Jerry's is safe and sound and solid for when I Need it while researching those last minute papers, lol! Others have noted the security of the door and it does take effort to open it, but nothing that seems excessive to me. My floor is slippery so I do have to hold the side when I open it, but I do not find it problematic. I would highly recommend this freezer!

Really happy with this purchase. The door seal is tight, you can adjust the temperature, it’s spacious. Everything I wanted. The only minor complaint is that there isn’t hardware to switch what side the door opens on.

Absolutely love the space in this refrigerator/freezer. I am a sourdough baker and needed more space for my dough. I can keep all the inclusions in the drawers and the starter in the door. I can fit roughly 24 loaves in it.

I absolutely love my freezer! I can easily see everything and no digging like a chest freezer. Very spacious and versatile. I love that of I ever need it to be a fridge that i have that option unlike other upright freezers.
