Whirlpool Corporation/Maytag (Headquarters: Benton Harbor, Michigan) made-in-america-whirpool The Whirlpool Corporation’s history in America dates all the way back to 1911, when their first washer was produced. Flash forward to today, Whirlpool has 9 production plants located across the East Coast and Midwest. Maytag also has a long history of manufacturing in the US, starting in 1893. They were acquired by Whirlpool in 2006, so many of its products are now produced at Whirlpool’s plants. According to Whirlpool, it employs 28,000 Americans to run their day-to-day operations.
