“This says it's only garage ready in freezer mode, what happens if I use it as a garage fridge? Most garage freezers operate down to 0F while most garage fridges operate down to 38F would that be the same or would it need to be warmer than 38F?”

You can set the temperature, but the default setting is 33 because it is a freezer. we're not using it as a fridge, but it does allow to change the temperature.
