“I just had this model installed yesterday. It was fine at first but now it’s making a loud buzzing noise like a toy airplane off an on. What would cause that? Is it possibly defective?”

I have no idea. My fridge is absolutely silent. I never hear it come on or off. So yes, it may be defective or if you have an ice maker in yours the lever may not be fully engaged or the water turned on at the source, meaning the wall behind the fridge. That would definitely make it buzz.
