Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Before placing food inside the Insignia™ 18 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator, it’s important to allow the appliance sufficient time to cool down after being plugged in and the thermostat has been set. Typically, you should wait about two to three hours to let the internal temperature begin to stabilize. However, during warmer months or in hot environments, it’s recommended to wait at least four hours to ensure the refrigerator reaches a safe cooling level. This waiting period helps the appliance operate efficiently and ensures that food is stored at the proper temperature to maintain freshness and safety. Keeping the doors closed during this time will also help the refrigerator cool more quickly and evenly. Patricia | Insignia Support
