“Purchased this and the bluetooth option works beautifully, but I can't for my life figure out how to hook it up to the TV (which only has the RCA option)-- has anyone else had trouble? any tips/suggestions??”

Wire that has RCA plugs on one end and a mini plug on the other. You're good to go.
