• If your universal remote has a code(s) for Insignia TVs, I would try that. Code 11564 worked for my Charter universal remote. Hope this helps.

• yes the speaker has a power button, a button to change the channel ( component av, HDMI , etc, ) and additional sound buttons that all work manually and don't require a remote.
