Can I hook this up to a 3rd generation apple TV? null

No, the soundbar does not have HDMI port.

I'm not familiar with Apple TVs but the unit comes equipped with an RCA hookup (red and white plugs) and also has a gizmo with the red and white plugs and a single jack, like you would plug into a headphone jack. All you need to do is plug into your TVs "audio out" jacks. I really like this soundbar! And look at it this way: if it doesn't work, you can always return it within 15 days....the price is perfect for experimentation...I bet you'll like it!
