• Fortunately no, it does not talk. I had the talking issue with a different sound bar and finally figured out it was a setting in my TV not the sound bar.

• No this does not talk! For the price it is a great buy. Just be sure to use an optical cable for the better sound. Thanks Best Buy for 1/2 price sale.
