Seems like you optical cable broke. It's fiber optic so you don't want to bend it. I would be surprised if best buy gave you a replacement cable if you brought it all to your store. Download your TV's manual and find the settings. They are there since you have digital audio ports. Had you wrote your model #, someone would have helped you .
