Not on their own. This enclosure takes your old hard drive and basically makes it a folder you can access from another computer. So you can open the 'folder', find your old excel documents or photos and then go put them into the folders on your new computer and they should work just fine. Might have a compatibility problem if it's different software versions, but that would happen regardless, and has nothing to do with this piece of hardware.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No really sure of the question. If you are asking if the files behave the same as the other files in your computer, yes, the files are the same as with any disk in your computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, external hard drives are for saving data. You would have to reinstall whatever programs you run to properly see your data
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It should. I reformatted my hard drive and already copied my files from it because I purchase a 2TB internal drive for my laptop. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is designed to contain a 2.5" laptop sized hard drive and allow it to be attached to a computer and accessed as a USB drive. Honestly, unless you have a spare 2.5" drive and you just want to use it, it is probably less expensive to just by the regular USB hard drive. You can store files on the drive that would be installed in this enclosure.
